MING CERAMICS
Talk, illustrated with slides, by Jessica Harrison-Hall, Curator, Department of Oriental Antiquities, the British Museum:
"Contemporaneous with the European Renaissance, the Ming Dynasty (1368- 1644) was a golden age for China’s craft industries. Harnessing new decorative techniques to established and innovatory forms, Ming pottery and porcelain has long been regarded in the West with awe and wonder: this lecture will provide an accent of some of the preoccupations of the society which generated such magnificent chinaware."
